Bio

Kumar Dari is actor/ writer who has worked in the NJ/PA/NY area for the last 30 years. He has appeared in everything from Shakespeare to Neil Simon.

​

His one act play “The Liberty Belles” was performed at the Manhattan Theater Company in NYC. His short play “Banter” has been performed at both the Ritz Theatre Company and at the Grand Theatre. His one act, “Another Thanksgiving Day Tragedy” was performed at The Ritz Theatre Company’s June One Act Festival.

 

His first full length play “The Ghosts of Ravenswood Manor” was premiered at the Ritz Theatre Company as part of mainstage season.

He has also written and performed in the sketch comedy group he co-founded called The Simian Institute. Several of these sketches are currently available on YouTube.

 

He has more recently concentrated on writing plays and scripts for both TV and Film. His film writing credits include the short films “The Trouble with Old Friends” and the film “Ghostlight” which won best picture at the 21 Day Film Competition in Philadelphia.

His short film script, "The Raising of Esther" won Best Short Script, Best Writing, and Best Dialogue at the Horror Hound Film Festival. â€‹â€‹

His most recent project is a dark comedy TV series called, “The Sanctum of Horror”. Working in association with Opengate Entertainment he has developed a One pager, Pitch Deck, and Pilot script for the series. â€‹

​

A trailer for the show has been completed and was recently screened at the Garden State Film Festival.
